Debi, the proud owner and founder or Dulles Gymnastics, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the world of gymnastics. With an impressive coaching career that began in the 70's, she has dedicated herself to the sport and has achieved remarkable milestones along the way. Debi's coaching prowess is evident in her ability to consistently produce top-tier gymnasts who have excelled at the national level. From 1976 to 1995, she successfully guided numerous gymnasts to qualify for Nationals, showcasing her exceptional coaching techniques and dedication to their development. Recognized as the youngest female Elite All-Around Coach from 1978 to 1983, Debi's expertise and commitment to her athletes have set her apart in the gymnastics community. Her accomplishments are nothing short of extraordinary, having placed over 30 gymnasts on the National Team and coaching seven or more USA Champions. One of her notable achievements includes coaching Elizabeth Reid, a Senior International Elite Gymnast, along with Kristen Duff, Laura French, and Jennifer Orlando, who achieved Junior International Elite status. Furthermore, Debi has nurtured the talent of numerous gymnasts who have achieved National Elite status, such as Sybil Stevenson and Katie Jennings. Her coaching has also led to the success of three Level 10 National Champions and a USAIGC Senior Level Champion, exemplifying her ability to cultivate excellence across various competitive levels. Debi's dedication to her athletes extends beyond individual achievements, as her coaching has contributed to over 40 State Team Titles at all levels. Her guidance and expertise have resulted in the remarkable success of more than 69 gymnasts who have become Individual All-Around Champions, showcasing the depth of her impact in developing well-rounded athletes. Her passion for the sport, combined with her extensive coaching experience, sets the foundation for a comprehensive and fulfilling gymnastics program.
Erin is a dedicated and accomplished professional, serving as the General Manager of Dulles and Co-Head Coach of our Xcel team. With extensive experience in building and coaching DGA's successful Xcel program, she has played a pivotal role in its growth and recognition within Virginia, Region 7 and the nation. Erin's passion for gymnastics began in her childhood and has spanned over three decades, making a lasting impact as a coach.
As General Manager, Erin brings strong leadership and organizational skills, ensuring the gym operates smoothly and provides a nurturing environment for gymnasts, coaches, and families. Her comprehensive understanding of gymnastics and managerial expertise allows her to oversee all aspects of the facility's operations. Erin fosters open communication, trust, and collaboration, creating a supportive network that extends beyond the gym. She is dedicated to not only developing gymnastics skills but also nurturing personal growth, resilience, and self-confidence in her athletes.
Chelsea is a highly skilled and passionate trampoline and tumbling coach at Dulles Gymnastics. With her extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and infectious enthusiasm for the sport, Chelsea plays a crucial role in guiding and inspiring gymnasts in the art of trampoline and tumbling. Chelsea has been coaching T&T for over 21 years as well as coaching gymnastics and cheerleading. Chelsea has been competing her entire life, even excelling to do dance in college where she studied abroad for her four years in South Korea.
As a trampoline and tumbling coach, Chelsea thrives on witnessing the growth and achievements of her gymnasts. She has trained numerous athletes who have excelled at local, regional, and national competitions, earning medals and accolades for their outstanding performances. Chelsea is also a USAG and USAF cheerleading judge with 14 years of judging experience. Chelsea’s ability to connect with each athlete individually, understanding their strengths and areas for improvement, allows him to tailor training plans that maximize their potential.
Melissa is a dedicated and accomplished co-head coach of our Xcel program, working in collaboration with Erin to lead our talented gymnasts to new heights. With her exceptional guidance and coaching expertise, Melissa has played a pivotal role in helping numerous gymnasts from the DGA Xcel team secure state, regional, and national championship titles. Melissa's coaching journey began during her high school years, where she discovered her love for teaching and mentoring fellow gymnasts. Since then, she has honed her coaching skills through continuous education and practical experience. As a co-head coach, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our program. She specializes in skill development, technique refinement, and strategic training methodologies tailored to each gymnast's individual needs. Her nurturing approach combined with a focus on goal-setting empowers gymnasts to push their limits and achieve their full potential.Her dedication and passion for gymnastics are contagious, inspiring both athletes and fellow coaches alike.
Ashton brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as the Head Developmental Coach at DGA. With a coaching journey that began at the age of 14 and spans over 15 years, Ashton has honed her skills and expertise in nurturing young gymnasts. Ashton grew up with a deep appreciation for gymnastics, her love for the sport led her to pursue coaching at a young age, and she has dedicated herself to guiding and developing gymnasts ever since. She graduated from BYU-I with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, which has given her her the ability to expand the depth of her coaching knowledge. Ashton is a Virginia local living with her two children and husband. In 2016, Ashton joined our team at Dulles, bringing her expertise and passion to our gymnastics center. Her vast experience as both a gymnast and a coach allows her to understand the challenges and triumphs that young gymnasts experience on their journey. Ashton's personal journey in gymnastics took her up to level 9 in her younger years, providing her with a solid foundation to inspire and mentor aspiring gymnasts. Ashton's unwavering commitment to her gymnasts, combined with her warm and approachable nature, fosters strong connections with the athletes and their families. She believes in open and transparent communication, actively involving parents in their child's progress and goals. Ashton celebrates the achievements of each gymnast and inspires them to reach new heights both inside and outside the gym.
Kevin is a highly skilled and dedicated head developmental coach at our gymnastics center. With over a decade of experience, he plays a vital role in guiding and shaping gymnasts in the optional and developmental levels, ranging from 6 to 10. Kevin's passion for coaching ignited at a young age, starting as a gymnastics coach at 17 years old. With 11 years of coaching under his belt, he has made a significant impact on the athletes he has mentored. Having competed in gymnastics himself, Kevin brings personal experience to his coaching approach. He reached Level 10 as a junior elite athlete, competing at the elite level. This firsthand knowledge of high-level competition allows him to relate to his gymnasts and provide valuable insights. Joining our team in 2013, Kevin brings his expertise and enthusiasm to our gymnastics center. He has coached artistic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as boys' power tumbling. As the head developmental coach, Kevin is committed to helping gymnasts reach their full potential.
Meet Erica, one of our dedicated recreational gymnastics coaches at Dulles Gymnastics Academy. Born and raised in a small town in the mountains of Western MD, Erica's journey in sports and education has shaped her into an exceptional coach. Pursuing her academic goals, Erica earned her associate's degree in Applied Sciences from Allegany College of MD.She decided to relocate to Northern VA in 2014. Joining the team at Dulles Gymnastics Academy, Erica started as a front desk receptionist and quickly became involved in our after-school and summer camp programs. Her experience as a former cheerleader and preference for being on her feet rather than behind a desk sparked her growing interest in the sport of gymnastics. In the fall of 2015, Erica embarked on her training and career in recreational gymnastics. Throughout her time at Dulles Gymnastics Academy, Erica has had the privilege of working with gymnasts of all ages and levels in our recreational program. Her experience and versatility enable her to connect with each gymnast and provide them with the necessary guidance to thrive in their gymnastics journey.Beyond her dedication to coaching, Erica is a strong advocate for equal representation and equality for individuals with disabilities. As a mother to a son born with a congenital limb difference, Erica actively participates in several nonprofit organizations that support individuals with limb differences and disabilities.
Meet Dr. Kelsey Clark, a veterinarian by profession and a passionate gymnastics coach. Raised in a family of veterinarians, Kelsey's early exposure to animal care kindled her love for creatures big and small. After earning her veterinary degree from Cornell University in 2017, she settled in the DMV area with her furry companions.
Kelsey's gymnastics journey began at the age of 2.5 and evolved into a two-decade-long dedication, including competitive years up to Level 9. Her coaching career began at 14, coaching recreational classes and performing with the Gymkana team at the University of Maryland. Even through her veterinary studies, Kelsey's commitment to gymnastics endured, as she joined Cornell University's club gymnastics team.
Today, as a cherished coach in our program, Kelsey brings her experience full circle. She instills the values of practice and determination in her students, leading by example as a former gymnast herself. Beyond coaching, Kelsey embraces an active lifestyle through biking, hiking with her dogs, and tennis.
From veterinary surgeries to teaching cartwheels, Kelsey exemplifies unwavering dedication and an enduring passion for both animals and gymnastics.
Kayla has been DGA’s office manager for the past 18 months playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our gymnastics academy. Kayla did Irish Step dance for 8 years and has brought that passion for movement and athleticism into her position here. As the Gymnastics Office Manager, Kayla is responsible for overseeing day-to-day administrative tasks, coordinating schedules, managing registrations, and maintaining accurate records. Her knowledge and passion for her job make her an invaluable member of our team.
